In our classrooms, through our specialised programmes and our community art, we engage at-risk youth in educational arts to spark creative thinking and awaken the entrepreneurial spirit.

The Afro Arts Classroom

In Afro Arts programmes in UK, we provide innovative arts education in safe spaces for at-risk youth during the vulnerable after-school hours and holiday periods. Afro arts uses the power of the arts to help students navigate a clear path that is often cluttered with the hazards of extreme poverty, including gang violence, , and physical and substance abuse. During the workshops, a meal is provided to all participants.

Holiday Programme

During school holidays, Lalela provides full-day arts workshops for at-risk youth. Meals are provided for all participants. The programme also includes international volunteers and renowned guest artists for cultural exchange and professional artist engagement opportunities.

Civic Engagement

Afro Arts celebrates community service year-round. However, for significant national and international holidays, we develop specific programmes for our students to give back through the power of art. These holidays include: Holloween, St.Patricks day.

Leadership Programme

leadership programme empowers emerging student leaders with the knowledge and the applied skills of leadership in order to become role models in their schools and communities. Afro Arts works with local partners, such as Learn to Lead, for additional support.
